More than 50 of Lanarkshires top business people took some time out of their busy schedules to visit the Kwik-Fit Insurance offices on Wednesday evening (23 Oct 2007).
The insurance intermediary, which was named Employer of the Year 2007 by the National Business Awards for Scotland welcomed the members and guests of the Lanarkshire Chamber of Commerce to see for themselves the excellent working practices the company is famous for.
During the visit, the guests were given an overview of Kwik-Fit Insurance and its working practices. A tour of the buildings also took place, showcasing the firms onsite nursery, run by Bright Horizons, staff gym and chill-out facilities.
The VIPs also got a sneaky peek of the call centres new 600k restaurant which wont be open to staff until December.
Alan Brown, Operations Director of Kwik-Fit Insurance personally welcomed the LCC members to the company and was thrilled to showcase the successful business. He said: It was an honour to welcome some of the regions top business people to Kwik-Fit Insurance. We come a long way since we opened our doors back in 1995.
As one of Lanarkshires top employers, I am thrilled we can continue to offer such an attractive and comprehensive package to all of our people, which ranges from offering heavily subsidised childcare to running a 200 vehicle-strong company car scheme. Our staff are what has made our business so successful so it makes sense for us to invest heavily in their welfare.
Being a member of the Lanarkshire Chamber of Commerce, companies have the opportunity to attend a wide range of events aimed to inform, educate, entertain and provide networking opportunities and business links to a host of companies throughout Lanarkshire we are honoured to be a active member and support its work throughout the region.
Chief Executive of the Lanarkshire Chamber of Commerce, Douglas Millar added: Kwik-Fit Insurance has an excellent reputation for managing its staff. The Chamber arranged the visit to allow members an opportunity to learn about the motivation and reward techniques that the company uses to ensure its workforce is kept happy and staff turnover is kept to a minimum.
The visit was very informative and the company and its staff facilities are certainly highly impressive and a real example of the fantastic workplaces situated here in Lanarkshire.
