At a recent lunch with Chambers of Commerce, the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), they asked that the following statement be distributed to members.
�The weather has hit many businesses at a time when cashflow is critical, stock has to be ordered, suppliers and staff need to be paid. Businesses should talk to us as soon as possible so we can help, for example through increasing overdrafts or providing loan repayment holidays.
In addition, our relationship managers are extremely sympathetic to the extra pressures that business owners face during these challenges, and will not penalise them if pay-ins are delayed if due to weather restrictions.
The vital thing is to simply keep the bank informed so that your relationship manager understands what's happening and why.�
