In 2003 the Lanarkshire Local Economic Forum produced a strategy that set out Lanarkshires priorities for the first decade of the twenty first century. Changing Gear: Towards 2010 crystallised the Forums vision for Lanarkshire as a growing, diverse and sustainable local economy, with an improving quality of life where this is widely regarded as an attractive place to live, work and do business.
Our excellent strategic location with unbeatable transport links makes Lanarkshire a great place for business. Successful locations such as Strathclyde Business Park and Scottish Enterprise Technology Park have attracted many new companies to the area. These have benefited from the flexible and dynamic skills of the Lanarkshire workforce.
Today, the business environment across Scotland is a lot more challenging as the economic recession has led to businesses closing down and jobs being lost. Lanarkshire has been particularly affected by the recession. However, the principles and aims of Changing Gear remain. Our focus for the future has to be on supporting and encouraging economic growth and to do this we need to hear your views.
The Lanarkshire Economic Forum has developed an online survey where you can make your view heard and influence the Forums strategic priorities for the area. To complete the survey, simply click on the following link. The survey should only take about 10 minutes of your time:
Lanarkshire Business Survey
Completing this survey will help us to assess the needs of business and to agree strategic priorities for the Lanarkshire economy over the next few years. Results of the survey will be published on the Lanarkshire.com website and our new Economic Strategy for Lanarkshire will be published next year.
Please accept our apologies if you receive more than one request to complete this survey. LEF partners are sending the request out to their mailing lists/contacts to ensure that the survey is sent to as many Lanarkshire-based businesses as possible.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the survey and we look forward to hearing your views.
